As your go-to source for Heath and Rockwall area full-service veterinary clinic and hospital, The Animal Hospital of Heath would love to see your bunnies, rats, pigs, hamsters, chickens, gerbils, and other pocket pets by appointment.

Rockwall Heath Ferret VeterinarianExotic animals, particularly Pocket Pets, have been warming the hearts of pet lovers for quite some time. These tiny critters make great companions and provide much joy and happiness to their human families.

Our doctors have taken a special interest in treating the many different situations these little guys can encounter from dietary issues and grooming needs, to specific health problems. Depending on the type of pocket pet you own, our exotic pet veterinarians may wish to obtain a fecal sample to run tests for bacteria and parasites.

Masters at Hiding Illness

Through millions of years of evolution, many exotic pets have become masters at hiding any symptoms until they become very sick. Even if your exotic pet isn’t showing signs of illness or doesn’t need its vaccinations, it’s always a good idea to have a routine wellness check performed by our exotic pet veterinarians once a year. It will also benefit you to have a well thought out plan in place should you ever encounter a health emergency with your pocket pet.

Thinking about owning an exotic animal?

Arrange now for a consultation so our Heath and Rockwall veterinarians can provide important pet wellness care and advice on the specific needs of these fun little guys.

We see dogs, cats, bunnies, and any pocket pet - guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils, hedgehogs, chickens, ferrets (for wellness), rats, mice, chinchillas

Unfortunately, none of our doctors will see reptiles, including for euthanasia.
